Murray Alan Scott
was raised in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, where he attended Bishop’s
University and graduated with a B.Sc. in chemistry. He then received an LL.B. from the
University of Windsor and was called to the bar in 1978. The following year, he became a
partner in the law firm now known as Conroy Trebb Scott Hurtubise
LLP. Scott’s practice
includes corporate and commercial matters and real estate
transactions. His practice
further includes wills, trusts, and estates. He leads the firm’s Corporate
Commercial Law Group. Scott
acted as counsel in the Northern Ontario conversion of a multi-national
oil company, local hospital transition and Northern Ontario distance
education re-organization. Scott is a
Past-Vice-Chair of Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation which yearly
invests $60,000,000.00 in Northern Ontario. He is a former Chair of
Cambrian College and a former President of a local manufacturer of
radio-remote control systems used in the mining
industry. Scott raised his
four daughters on the shores of Lake Wanapitei, where they enjoy swimming,
hiking, bicycling and water-skiing in summer and skiing and snow-shoeing
in winter.
