Guy A. Hurtubise graduated from Laurentian University in 1970 with a B.A. before going on to the University of Western Ontario to complete his LL.B. Guy A. Hurtubise was called to the Bar in 1975.  He came to practice in Sudbury with the firm of Sopha & Hurtubise.  In 1982 he joined the present firm.

   Since 1980, he has restricted his criminal practice to criminal law cases punishable by life imprisonment, cases affecting professional status of an accused, and to civil litigation, mostly in the area of personal injury or fatality. He is bilingual. He has extensive experience in fatality and personal injury matters resulting from motor vehicle accidents, and all forms of wrong doing or neglect. Guy A. Hurtubise has a special interest in competency issues relating to consent, execution of wills, Powers of Attorney and other legal documents. He has participated in the development of the law relating to health care issues since 1986.

   Guy A. Hurtubise is special counsel to a Provincial Association of Teachers. He has been counsel to hospital and educational institutions involved in mandated reorganizations.

   He lectured at Laurentian University from 1979-1992, during which time he authored a text in Insurance Law. From 1986 to 2003 he occupied the Office of  Regional Vice Chair, Sudbury Region, Consent and Capacity Board,  under the Health Care Consent Act. He was one of 5 persons in Ontario designated under s.73(2)(d) of the Health Care Consent Act to sit as a single person Board on issues of capacity.  He was a special lecturer to the Ontario Legislative Committee on Mental Health issues resulting in Brian's Law.

   Guy A. Hurtubise is head of the Litigation Department at Conroy Trebb Scott Hurtubise LLP, he participates in the Criminal Department in a limited way.

   He was a member of the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators for 17 years, and is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
