Edward James Conroy is the firm's senior counsel. He graduated from the University of Toronto, in 1954 before attending Osgoode Hall. Since his call to the Bar in 1958 he has practiced from Sudbury throughout the Province of Ontario. Edward James Conroy is a litigator who practices both criminal and civil litigation. During his more than 40 years of practice he has represented over 15 persons accused with murder and countless numbers of persons on lessor offenses. Edward James Conroy has special interest in crimes of violence and sexual abuse. This has led him to become knowledgeable in the use (and abuse) of firearms and edged weapons. During the last 19 years Edward James Conroy has been developing novel and important statutory constitutional defenses to alcohol related offenses such as impaired driving and other moving offenses. Over the course of his practice, Edward James Conroy participated in several breaking civil suits. In 1988, he was awarded the continuing designation of Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada. Edward James Conroy restricts his practice to criminal and quasi criminal matters, matrimonial law and civil litigation. He is head of the Criminal Law Department and participates in the Civil Litigation Department where he is responsible for the cases involving the intentional and unintentional infliction of harm by one unto another person.
